Custom logo type designed for a concept taco truck. The goal of this project was to create a logo type to help establish a unique and fun brand that upholds a sense of community. This logo needed to stand out among competitors, while remaining professional.
I start the process off by sketching out different styles of type to try and find the right style that will work for this particular logo. I keep it very loose and rough and focus on ideas rather than perfection. In this case I went with a simple sans serif style lettering with some interesting flourishes in the type to make it unique.
Next I played around with the weights. I wanted to see if it would look better thinner or a thicker. Ultimately I went with something that was in the middle. The thinner style looked to elegant while the thicker one was much more approachable and friendly.
This is a shot from after I brought it into the computer and created a vector file. In illustrator I use the pen tool and trace around the sketch I made on pencil and paper. I turn my drawing into a logo, that I can color and tweak until I have the final product.
